Abstract

The bumper according to the invention consists essentially of an end element with a C-shaped cross-section, into which element a tubular reinforcement element which is closed at the two ends is inserted and attached, the said reinforcement element giving the entire structure an increased rigidity which is sufficient to absorb impacts at low speeds without causing damage to the body of the vehicle or suffering lasting deformations. The bumper is advantageously produced from plastic, the end element and the tubular reinforcement element consisting possibly of various materials. The tubular reinforcement element can be produced by blow moulding and can receive fluids or foamed plastic.
