Abstract

The vehicle bumper consists of a frame (8), with an outer lining (7), of compressible material and plastics. This lining also provides decoration. The frame is a closed section and is attached to the vehicle via the lining. The lining has a front panel, completely covering the frame and in direct contact with it. The face of the frame has folds (2) concave at the outside. These provide also a form of reinforcement and a seating for fixing to the vehicle. The inside of the frame can have extruded ridges (10).
