Abstract

A speed-limiting device for a vehicle is responsive to pulses from pick-off 20 to keep transistor 15 conducting and the switch 10 in the position shown. If the pulses are absent the switch changes to connect contacts 1 and 3 after a delay produced by capacitor 14 to apply a lower set voltage from potentiometer 12. The actuator 6 restricts the movement of the throttle pedal to keep the speed of the vehicle below a lower limit. A switch 19 inhibits operation of the switch 10 when gears are not engaged.
