PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA OBTENCION DE 1-AZAXANTONA.CONSISTE EN LA REACCION DE CICLIZACION DE ACIDO 2-FENOXINICOTINICO POR CALENTAMIENTO A UNA TEMPERATURA ENTRE 160JC Y 200JC EN PRESENCIA DE ACIDO POLIFOSFORICO COMO AGENTE DESHIDRATANTE. LA REACCION SE LLEVA A CABO AÑADIENDO EL ACIDO 2-FENOXINICOTINICO SOBRE 5-10 VECES SU PESO DE ACIDO POLIFOSFORICO DE 80-85, EXPRESADO EN P2O5, PREVIAMENTE CALENTADO. LA MEZCLA DE REACCION SE DILUYE CON AGUA, SE NEUTRALIZA HASTA PH 2-3 CON ALCALI Y SE SEPARA DE LA 1-AZAXANTONA.LA 1-AZAXANTONA TIENE APLICACIONES FARMACOLOGICAS POR SU ACTIVIDAD ANALGESICA, ANTIPIRETICA,ANTIINFLAMATORIA, ESPASMOLITICA, BRONCODILATADORA Y DIURETICA.
