CONSISTE EN UNA REACCION EN DOS FASES, EN LA PRIMERA DE LAS CUALES EL FENOL Y EL DIISOBUTENO SE TRATAN CON AGUA EN PRESENCIA DE UN INTERCAMBIADOR IONICO ACIDO, EN UN REACTOR DE LECHO SOLIDO, A TEMPERATURAS ENTRE 110 C Y 140 C Y SOBRE PRESION DE HASTA 5 BAR; Y EN LA SEGUNDA FASE, EL DIOCTILFENOL, OBTENIDO COMO SUBPRODUCTO, SE HACE REACCIONAR CON FENOL EN OTRO REACTOR EN LAS MISMAS CONDICIONES. ESTE COMPUESTO TIENE APLICACIONES PARA LA PREPARACION DE EMULGENTES, DETERGENTES Y MASAS FENOLICAS.
