Abstract

A rotary switch, especially an ignition/starter switch having a rotor which is supported in a housing such that it can rotate has contact parts which, during rotation of the rotor, come to rest with contacts which are arranged in a stationary manner in the housing, and having a switching link for controlling the movement of one of the contact parts in the direction of the rotation axis. The rotary switch is characterised in that the rotor holds a contact link (16) which can rotate and has the contact points (21, 23, 25) at its ends or arms, and in that at least one end (34) of the link (16) has a projection (20) which allows local displacement of a contact point. The projection (20) has the contact point (22) for making contact with that stationary contact (20) which connects and disconnects the very strong current.
