CONSISTE EN EFECTUAR UNA HIDROGENACION CATALITICA EN FASE LIQUIDA EN CALIENTE Y BAJO PRESION, EN PRESENCIA DE METALES NOBLES DEL GRUPO VIII, DE DERIVADOS BENCENICOS NITROGENADOS Y CLORADOS. DICHA REACCION TIENE LUGAR EN MEDIO ANHIDRO Y EN PRESENCIA DE UNA CANTIDAD CATALITICA DE AL MENOS UN ACIDO DE LEWIS COMO CATALIZADOR, EL CUAL SE ELIGE DE ENTRE LOS HALOGENUROS DE BORO, ALUMINIO, GALIO, ESTAÑO, FOSFORO, ARSENICO, ANTIMONIO, BISMUTO, TITANIO, ZIRCONIO, MOLIBDENO, MANGANESO, HIERRO, COBALTO, NIQUEL, COBRE, ZINC Y CADMIO. LA REACCION TIENE LUGAR EN UN DISOLVENTE ORGANICO. LA RELACION MOLAR DEL ACIDO DE LEWIS AL DERIVADO NITROGENADO Y CLORADO DE PARTIDA ESTA COMPRENDIDA ENTRE 0,01 Y 0,5.
