Abstract

Damp proofing of a wall 1 is affected by means of an electro- osmotic installation, which is supplied by a source 7 with an alternating voltage with a positive average value for the period. The voltage is applied to electrodes 4 in the wall 1. A hydrophobic agent such as silicone is supplied to sloping holes 8 in the wall. The dynamic and impulsive action of the alternating voltage increases remarkably the speed of the drying process and the range of penetration of a hydrophobic agent, orders and imparts dynamism to water particles, diminishes the occurrence of electrode corrosion and assures also drying and sealing of pores which are very small and vary in size.
