Abstract

The machine binds stacks of packages together to facilitate palletted handling. The machine leaves the stack of packages stationary and has a rotating arm carrying the binding dispenser, which is simultaneously moved upwards until a photocell detector indicates it has reached the required height. The wrapping machine has a rectangular frame fixed to the floor and an electric motor mounted on the lintel driving a vertical shaft through a gearbox. The vertical shaft is mounted at the centre of the lintel and carries a horizontal arm with an electric motor at its end. The electric motor drives a vertical chain carried in a vertical housing. The chain carries the binding dispenser which rises until a photocell detects its presence and stops the machine.
