Abstract

Side frames 10 support a resiliently mounted bolster 16 which is restrained or snubbed from excess oscillating movements by friction shoes 26 located in wedge- shaped pockets in each side frame 10. Each friction shoe 26 is provided with a recess 48 which visually indicates the combined wear of various friction surfaces by appearing above the top wall 38 of the bolster.
