Abstract

A screwless terminal has a more or less hairpin-shaped bent terminal spring (leaf spring 5) which can be held in tension, ie. in the open state, by means of a tensioning device (16), having no clamping force when in use, which on the one hand is supported on the housing (2) and on the other hand holds the terminal spring (5) tensioned. In this case, the tensioning device (16) is adjustable in two defined end positions, and from the outside of the housing (2), by engagement in the slot (20), at least in the unstressed position. The connecting terminal according to the invention is advantageously applicable particularly for units with a large number of connecting terminals, since this terminal can be delivered in the opened state so that, from the clients' point of view, it is merely necessary to release the terminal spring, to activate the clamping process.
