EL PROCESO COMPRENDE LAS SIGUIENTES ETAPAS: PRIMERA, SE GENERA UNA SEÑAL ACUSTICA DE ORDEN DESDE LA NAVE (18); SEGUNDA, DICHA SEÑAL ACUSTICA ES RECIBIDA POR LO MENOS POR TRES TRANSPONDEDORES (10, 12, 14) SITUADOS DE FORMA SEPARADA EN POSICIONES CONOCIDAS SOBRE EL FONDO DEL MAR (16), LOS CUALES RESPONDEN A DICHA SEÑAL ACUSTICA MEDIANTE LA EMISION DE PULSOS ACUSTICOS DE FRECUENCIAS DIFERENTES; TERCERA, SE DETECTAN LOS PULSOS ACUSTICOS DE RESPUESTA DE LOS TRANSPONDEDORES (10, 12, 14) CON UNA PLURALIDAD DE RECEPTORES SEPARADOS Y SITUADOS EN EL PALANGRE (20); Y POR ULTIMO, SE CLASIFICAN LOS PULSOS ACUSTICOS DE LOS TRANSPONDEDORES (10, 12, 14) RECIBIDOS EN LA NAVE (18) Y SE MIDE EL INTERVALO DE TIEMPO TRANSCURRIDO DESDE LA GENERACION DE LA SEÑAL ACUSTICA DE ORDEN HASTA LA RECEPCION DE LAS SEÑALES DE RESPUESTA.
