PROCEDIMIENTO DE PROTECCION CONTRA LA COQUEFACION DE LA PARED INTERNA DE HORNOS DE ALEACION REFRACTARIA. SE INCORPORA A LA ALEACION REFRACTARIA, AL MENOS SOBRE UNA PARTE DE LAS SUPERFICIES DE ALEACION REFRACTARIA EN CONTACTO CON LOS REACTIVOS, UN ELEMENTO FORMADOR DE OXIDO QUE PRODUCE PROPIEDADES CATALIZADORAS AL OXIDO FORMADO CON RESPECTO AL COQUE, PRODUCIENDO UNA CAPA HOMOGENEA CONTINUA PORTADORA DE SITIOS DE CATALISIS EN NUMERO APROPIADO PARA EVITAR LA COQUEFACION. EL ELEMENTO FORMADO DE OXIDO SE ELIGE DE ENTRE ITRIO, TIERRAS RARAS, TITANIO, CIRCONIO, TORIO O PREFERENTEMENTE ALUMINIO, EN UNA CANTIDAD DE 1 A 6% EN PESO CON RELACION A LA ALEACION REFRACTARIA.
