LA REACCION TIENE LUGAR EN PRESENCIA DE UNA SUSTANCIA FORMADORA DE COMPLEJO NO IONICO, TAL COMO COMPUESTOS CICLICOS O ACICLICOS DE ESTRUCTURA -(-O-CH2-CH2)N- EN QUE N VALE DE 2 A 12. COMO ALCOHOLATO ALCALINO SE EMPLEA EL METILATO DE SODIO. LA CANTIDAD DE CATALIZADOR OSCILA ENTRE 0,001 Y 0,01 MOL DE ALCOHOLATO POR MOL DE METANOL.
