METODO DE O-DESMETILACION DE UN ANTIBIOTICO DE FORTIMICINA. COMPRENDE HACER REACCIONAR LA FORTIMICINA O-DESMETILADA CON UN TRIHALURO DE BORO, PREFERENTEMENTE TRIBROMURO DE BROMO, EN PRESENCIA DE UN DISOLVENTE INERTE. ESTE DISOLVENTE PUEDE SER UN HIDROCARBURO CLORADO O UN DISOLVENTE HIDROCARBONADO, COMO CLORURO DE METILENO QUE SOLUBILIZA A LAS FORTIMICINAS. POSTERIORMENTE SE SEPARA EL DISOLVENTE Y EL TRIHALURO DE BORO RESIDUAL Y TIENE LUGAR EL AISLAMIENTO DEL PRODUCTO POR CROMATOGRAFIA. ESTE COMPUESTO TIENE APLICACION COMO ANTIBIOTICO.
