Abstract

The appts. is used for dividing and separating bottles arriving on several tracks into one row. The bottles arriving in serveral rows are first forced together within a separating section and at an angle of between 40 and 90 degrees transverse to their normal direction of movement they are also accelerated both during the above process and immediately following it. The bottles are subsequently braked and their forward speed reduced to a value required to obtain a continuous single track row before they reach a further processing machine. The acceleration and/or speed reduction may be influenced within the separating section by the storage formation or the length of the single track row in front of the processing machine.
