EL SEGUNDO PASO TIENE LUGAR POR BROMACION DEL ISOSAFROL, BIEN POR UNA TRANSADICION DE BROMO A LA FORMA E DE LA OLEFINA PARA DAR EL ( )-ERITRO-DIBROMO-DERIVADO, O BIEN MEDIANTE N-BROMOSUCCIONIMIDA Y AGUA EN DIMETILSUFOXIDO. LA REACCION TRANSCURRE A TRAVES DEL EPOXIDO FORMADO EN EL MEDIO DE LAREACCION POR CATALISIS DE LA AMINA. LA REACCION DE LA BRONHIDRINA CON LA AMINA PUEDE TENER LUGAR EN DISOLVENTES TALES COMO HIDROCARBUROS AROMATICOS O EN ALCANOLES. ACTIVIDAD ANALGESICA.
