SE HACE REACCIONAR UN MATERIAL PORTADOR TITANIFERO, EN EXCESO, CON UNA SOLUCION DILUIDA DE ACIDO SULFURICO CON UNA CONCENTRACION EN PESO DEL 25 AL 50 POR 100. DICHA REACCION SE EFECTUA A UNA TEMPERATURA DE, APROXIMADAMENTE, 140 GC, Y A CONTINUACION LA MEZCLA RESULTANTE DE LA MISMA SE ENFRIA HASTA UNA TEMPERATURA DE, APROXIMADAMENTE, 110 GC, SIN PRECIPITACION DE LOS PRODUCTOS DE LA REACCION. FINALMENTE SE SEPARAN LOS SOLIDOS NO DISUELTOS, OBTENIENDOSE UNA SOLUCION DE SULFATO DE TITANIO. LAS SOLUCIONES DE SULFATO DE TITANIO OBTENIDAS PRODUCEN, POR HIDROLISIS, DIOXIDO DE TITANIO, DE EMPLEO EN LA FABRICACION DE PINTURAS, DE COMPOSICION DE REVESTIMIENTO Y DE MATERIALES PLASTICOS.
