Abstract
The solar heat collector comprises a lenticular shaped storage tank (1') which is supported on a bed of insulating material (4) in an outer casing (3). In front of the storage tank (1') there is a concave lens (5) constructed from a plastics material. The lens is protected by a transparent convex-concave outer cover (6). To accelerate the initial heating of the water in the tank, a network of copper tubes (8) is laid over the exposed surface (7) of the storage tank. Water is pumped through the collector in usual manner. The storage tank may be fitted with standby heating elements (9) and anti-corrosion rods (10).
