Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain high evaporation temperature and prevent a decrease of the evaporation temperature even in winter when temperature of the surface seawater lowers, by providing a refiecting mirror in the periphery of an evaporator for electric power generation of oceanic temperature difference and performing heating through the sunlight in addition to the heating from the warm seawater.
CONSTITUTION: Warm seawater passes through a water intake pipe 5 of surface temperature seawater and is further heated by direct rays of the sunlight 7 and reflection of a reflecting mirror 2 in addition to the heating by the warm seawater then fed to an evaporator 1 held at high evaporation temperature. In the evaporator the warm seawater is exchanged its heat with a medium of low boiling point and then discharged into the sea from a drain pipe 6 of surface temperature seawater, and steam is fed to a turbine through an outlet pipe 4 of the medium of low boiling point. In this way, the evaporator 1, being applied further heating additionally to the heating by the warm seawater, maintains high evaporation temperature, thus lowering of the evaporation temperature can be prevented even in winter when temperature of the surface temperature seawater is lowered.
