EL CATODO-ELECTROLITO ESTA CONSTITUIDO POR UNA SOLUCION IONICAMENTE CONDUCTORA DE UN POLIMERO VINILICO SELECCIONADO ENTRE LOS SIGUIENTES: HOMOPOLIMEROS DE CLORURO DE VINILO O VINILIDENO Y COPOLIMEROS QUE CONTIENEN CLORURO DE VINILO O CLORURO DE VINILIDENO QUE TIENEN, AL MENOS, UN MONOMERO COPOLIMERIZADO EN LOS MISMOS. OPCIONALMENTE, EL CATODO-ELECTROLITO PUEDE CONTENER UNO DE LOS SIGUIENTES COMPUESTOS: SULFURO DE LITIO, MONOCLORURO DE AZUFRE, MEZCLAS DE AMBOS, O UN OXIHALURO LIQUIDO, PREFERENTEMENTE CLORURO DE TIONILO O DE SULFURILO.
