Abstract

A tube bundle heat exchanger comprises an exit chamber for medium flowing through exchanger tubes (2), apertured wall means (13) to divide the exit chamber into an outflow space (10) and a mixer space (11), an at least partially thermally insulated tube (3) provided with a prolongation (4) having a larger diameter than that of the insulated tube (3) and leading to the outflow space (10), a hollow cylindrical member (20) displaceable axially thereof within the prolongation (4) and having a diameter at least equal to that of the aperture (14), an axially displaceable rod (17) connected to the cylindrical member (20), a cover (18) so carried by the rod that the cover (18) bounds a gap (21) with the hollow cylindrical member (20), and further gaps (23, 22) each being present in an axially intermediate position of the cylindrical member (20). At one axial end position of the rod (17) the cover (18) seals the insulated tube (3), and at the other axial end position of the rod (20) the cylindrical member (20) seals the aperture (14) between the outflow space (10) and the mixer space (11).
