Abstract

Aparato para detectar un material en forma de filamento continuo que incluye un dispositivo para guiar dicho material a lo largo de una dirección de desplazamiento principal, un detector óptico que incluye una fuente de luz y un detector de luz, limitando dicho dispositivo de guía de dicho material el movimiento de dicho material en una dirección generalmente transversal respecto a su dirección de desplazamiento principal, teniendo dicho detector una zona de foco y estando dicho detector situado en un punto adyacente a dicho material y con dicha zona de foco de dicho detector sustancialmente en el límite externo de dicho movimiento transversal limitado, detectando dicho detector la luz procedente de dicha fuente, reflejada a partir de dicho material cuando dicho material penetra en dicha zona del foco y se desplaza en su dirección transversal en cuestión, estando dicho detector sustancialmente insensible a dicha luz reflejada fuera de dicho foco.
