Abstract

When a cassette is fully inserted in the recorder actuation of the push-key actuator 72 actuates anti-clockwise movement of ejection lever 20c to push the cassette C past the tooth 84 of the braking lever 80 which is biassed against the edge of the cassette by spring 93. Ejection of cassette C is braked by its engagement with the tooth 83 so that complete ejection of the cassette C is prevented, only a small portion of the cassette extending out of the housing. Complete ejection of the cassette C is achieved by pushing it slightly inwardly, the motion causing bistable pin 94 to snap into its alternative stable position which frees lever 20 to continue to rotate under the bias of spring 90 and thus eject the cassette.
