Abstract

Un procedimiento para la recuperación de hierro metálico de alta pureza a partir de una fuente que lleva hierro, que comprende las etapas de: (a) triturar dicha fuente que lleva hierro; (b) someter la fuente que lleva hierro triturada a una lixiviación cáustica a una temperatura y presión elevadas; © separar las impurezas del residuo de lixiviación cáustica; (d) reducir el hierro en dicho residuo de lixiviación cáustica por tratamiento con hidrógeno a una temperatura y presión elevadas; y (e) recuperar el hierro metálico resultante.
