Abstract
272,246. Aluminium-Industrie Akt.- Ges. June 7, 1926, [Convention date]. Electrolytic furnaces. - Aluminium is refined by electrolysis of a molten electrolyte in a furnace in which the impure aluminium in the solid state is connected as anode and the pure aluminium is deposited on to a solid cathode. The process is preferably carried out in closed vessels and under pressure in order to prevent absorption of moisture by the electrolyte and loss by sublimation of the electrolyte. Specification 265,170 is referred to.
