Abstract
Un método para recuperar Cr2O3 de alta pureza a partir de mineral de cromo que comprende: (i) tostar en una atmósfera oxidante gaseosa una mezcla de mineral de cromo con Na2Co3 y CaO a una temperatura comprendida en el intervalo de aproximadamente 600ºC a 1100ºC durante un periodo comprendido entre aproximadamente 0,5 y 6 horas, siendo la cantidad de Na2CO3 la que proporciona desde aproximadamente 1,4 a 4,2 kg de Na2CO3 por kg de Cr2O3 en el mineral y siendo la cantidad de CaO la que proporciona desde aproximadamente 0,6 a 1 kg de CaO por Kg de Cr2O3 en el mineral.
