Abstract

The corner connection or T-connection is suitable for connecting two profiles (1, 3 and 1, 5) having a half-open chamber (6) which runs in the longitudinal direction of the profiles (1, 3 1, 5). The legs (9) of the corner connector (2) are inserted into the chambers (6) of the corner profiles (1 and 3). The chamber (6) of the T-profile (5) receives the part of the T-connector (4) which projects beyond the profile (1). The legs (9) of the corner connector (2) and also of the T-connector (4) are provided with grooves (10) which extend transversely to the longitudinal axis of the corner-connector legs (9) and transversely to the longitudinal axis of the T-connector (4). In said grooves (10) there is arranged a clamping piece which, for mounting the frame profiles (1, 3 1, 5), is moved into a position in which the entire clamping piece is located inside each groove (10). The clamping piece is preferably produced from a stainless-steel sheet. After placing the profiles onto the corner-connector legs (9) and onto the T-connectors (4), the clamping piece is moved, by means of a tool, in the direction of the connection joint. In this arrangement, an edge of the clamping piece engages into the border webs (7, 8) of the chamber (6). The clamping piece is guided in the groove (10) such that it exerts a force on the associated profile (1, 3 1, 5) which has a component acting in the direction of the connection joint. As a result of this force component, the profile (1, 3 1, 5) assigned to the clamping piece is moved in the direction of the connection joint and a closure of this connection joint is achieved.
