Abstract

A conveyor plant includes a storage conveyor (3a) from which a slide (2) carrying a loan (42) is transferred to a process conveyor (4) by means of a transfer device having a support frame (9) which is tiltable between a receiving position, coplanar with the conveying plan of the storage conveyor, in which a slide is received against a stop, and a transfer position in which the end of the slide adjacent the process conveyor rests thereon to be dragged forward thereby, the tilting being effected by two jacks (25) which act on respective knee-jointed lever supports (14, 15) adjacent the process conveyor to pivot the support frame about an axis (23) on a fixed upright (11) adjacent the storage conveyor, the tilting of the support frame (9) and the operation of the storage conveyor being controlled by slide- actuated switches mounted on the process conveyor to ensure a constant spacing of the slides on the process conveyor.
