Abstract

Perfeccionamientos en hornos de cuba vertical para fundir materiales metálicos, caracterizados porque se dota a cada horno de una cámara de fusión alargada verticalmente, que tiene partes de cámara superior e inferior, cuya parte de cámara superior tiene medios para cargar por gravedad metal en la cámara de fusión durante el funcionamiento del horno y formar por lo tanto una columna de metal continuamente descendente durante el funcionamiento, teniendo la parte de cámara inferior una pared interior formada de material refractario y un suelo cuyo suelo comprende medios para acumular un depósito de metal fundido en el horno, medios de salida en la parte de la cámara inferior en comunicación con los medios colectores de metal fundido para extraer continuamente metal fundido del horno, una pluralidad de aberturas inclinada hacia abajo separadas alrededor de la parte de la cámara inferior, sopletes de arco de plasma situados en las aberturas, medios para conectar una fuente de energía eléctricaentre los sopletes y la carga metálica, y medios conectados a los sopletes para hacer avanzar y retroceder los sopletes con relación a las partes de cámara inferior en posiciones de funcionamiento de las mismas.
