Abstract

Un procedimiento para la preparación de un elastómero termoplástico, caracterizado porque se prepara en solución o suspensión un polímero cauchoide de etileno-propileno que tiene una cristalinidad a los rayos X de no más de 10% en peso, un contenido de etileno de más de 58% en peso, una viscosidad Mooney [ML (1+4) 125ºC] de 30 a 90 y una resistencia a la tracción de más de 30 Kg/cm2, por medio de un catalizador de coordinación formado combinando al menos un compuesto de un metal de los subgrupos 4 a 6 u 8 de la Tabla Periódica de los Elementos de Mendelejew con un metal, aleación, hidruro de metal o compuesto de metal o un metal de los grupos 1 a 3 del cuarto grupo de dicha Tabla Periódica, en relación comprendida entre 1:2 y 1:500 y a una temperatura comprendida entre -40 y 120ºC; se prepara en un diluyente un homopolímero de propileno isotáctico cristalino que tiene un índice de fluidez comprendido entre 1 y 25 dg/min, con ayuda de un catalizador de tricloruro de titanio y un compuesto organometálico o un hidruro de metal por polimerización de propileno.
