Abstract

1. Un método mejorado para revestimiento con metal duro de una superficie de un sustrato de aleación de base de hierro por formación de un enlace metalúrgico entre dicha superficie y un material de revestimiento con metal duro calentando dicha superficie hasta su punto de fusión y depositando sobre ella material de revestimiento con metal duro, método en el que la mejora comprende las operación de llevar el sustrato, en el momento inicial, a la temperatura de exudación, esto es, a la temperatura a la que la superficie del sustrato alcanza su punto de fusión, y depositar sobre la superficie del sustrato por soldadura y otra técnica, con un mínimo de penetración en el mismo, en calidad de material de revestimiento con metal duro, una composición que consiste esencialmente en vanadio y carbono combinados químicamente como VC0,89 y carbono libre en una cantidad de aproximadamente 4,5 % a 12,5% en peso, referida al vanadio y carbono combinados químicamente, con lo que la envoltura de metal fundido une el material de revestimiento al sustrato y se forma un enlace metalúrgico entre el material de revestimiento con metal duro y el sustrato por solidificación del metal fundido.
