Abstract
Perfeccionamientos introducidos en un horno de cuba de segunda fusión, tal como un cubilote o análogo, para la elaboración de un metal de segunda fusión, por ejemplo de hierro fundido, a partir de cargas metálicas, por tratamiento térmico en presencia de carbono, generalmente coque, y de un fundente, por ejemplo de castina, con insuflación, en la parte inferior del horno, de un viento oxigenado que proporciona, en la parte superior de dicho horno, un compuesto gaseoso resultante de la combinación del oxígeno con el carbono que se utiliza para el precalentamiento de las cargas metálicas, caracterizados porque el horno comprende un espacio de precalentamiento de las cargas metálicas, provisto de medios de aportación de aire para la combustión del compuesto gaseoso citado y de medios para llevar las cargas al paso inferior del horno.
