Abstract

Método mejorado de fabricación in situ de una composición adhesiva a base de almidón, prevista para empleo en un proceso de ondulación a alta velocidad y que comprende una dispersión acuosa de: 1) un material de almidón formado por saponificación de éster de almidón que tiene una superficie al menos aproximadamente 30% mayor bajo una curva de fuerza Instron-tiempo de calentamiento y una superficie al menos aproximadamente 30% mayor, bajo una curva fuerza Instron- tiempo de enfriamiento que el almidón de maíz no modificado bajo las mismas condiciones de ensayo, y 2) una cantidad de un álcali suficiente para hacer a dicha composición eficaz en dicho proceso; comprendiendo dicho método las operaciones de: a) formar una suspensión acuosa de material de almidón granular no modificado; b) introducir en dicha suspensión: i) un reactivo capaz de formar un éster saponificable con dicho material de almidón y ii) álcali; y c) hacer reaccionar esencialmente de un modo simultáneo dicho material de almidón, el reactivo y el álcali en dicha suspensión para producir dicha composición.
