Abstract

The orthopaedic boot for a paralysed person has a high leg (1b) with a front closure, adjustable by means of laces. At the back of the leg their is a vertical opening permitting the leg to be opened in two parts. This has a tongue (18) and is closed by a slide clasp fastener (17). The rear extremity of the heel is chamfered (12) and the angle between this and the horizontal plane is between 30 deg. and 70 deg. The leg can have an external band of self adhesive tape to which special garments with inflatable vertical structures can be attached.
