A boot, e.g. for use by motor cyclists, has a leg portion 1 formed of soft flexible material and which is closed by a sliding clasp fastener F and has means for connecting the inside surface of the leg portion to the external surface of a trouser leg 8 e.g. filamentary hook and loop fastenings 6, 7: The boot may have additional fastenings in the form of adjustable straps 5 and may have elastic gussets (not shown) at the top of the leg portion 1. The trouser leg may be provided with a knee protecting pad (9) and with a sliding clasp fastener (10) located at the side of the trouser leg.
