Abstract

Procedimiento para mejorar las propiedades reologicos y de resistencia de arcillas caolinicas, caracterizado porque comprende las etapas de: a) someter una suspensión acuosa de una arcilla caolinica a filtración a una presión del orden de 21 a 84 kg/cm2 aproximadamente, para formar una torta de filtración que tiene un contenido en humedad del 15 al 25% en peso aproximadamente; b) alimentar la torta de filtración directamente a un mezclador plástico en donde se efectúa trabajo mecánico sobre la arcilla hasta que se disipa en la arcilla por lo menos 80 kj de energía por kg de arcilla seca; y, si es necesario c) secar térmicamente la torta de filtración trabajada mecánicamente para dar un producto no viscoso con un contenido en humedad no superior al 15% en peso.
