Abstract
A method of manufacturing phosphorus-containing steel powder, intended for the manufacture of sintered molding parts having high toughness and strength, characterized in that a basic powder of a steel powder substantially free of phosphorus, and having good compressibility, is mixed intimately with a ferrophosphorus powder melting at low temperature, having a phosphorus content of at least 2.8%, preferably between 12, and 17%, in such amount that the phosphorus content in the mixture is 0.2 to 1.5%, where the ferrophosphorus powder has a maximum particle size of 20 μm, preferably a maximum particle size of 10 μm.
