Abstract
Medidor electroquímico para medir la concentración de carbono en un fluido que incluye: (a) una cámara destinada a estar situada en el fluido cuya concentración de carbono ha de ser medida, estando el interior de dicha cámara separado físicamente de dicho fluido y de dicha sonda e incluyendo la pared de dicha cámara una membrana de difusión permeable al carbono libre contenido en dicho fluido; (b) un gas de medición de actividad de carbono dentro de dicha cámara que contiene una multiplicidad de compuestos conteniendo carbono destinados a reaccionar con cualquier carbono libre y a compensarlo; (c) una célula electroquímica situada en dicha cámara y que está separada físicamente de dicho fluido, siendo dicha célula electroquímica capaz de generar un potencial eléctrico proporcional al grado de actividad de carbono en dicho gas de medición de actividad de carbono; (d) un dispositivo de compuestos de fijación en dicha cámara para mantener un nivel de concentración de uno de dichos compuestos que contienen carbono en dicho gas de medición de actividad de carbono, dependiendo las variaciones en dicha concentración solamente de la cantidad de carbono libre en el gas, con lo cual las variaciones en la actividad de carbono en dicho gas son proporcionales a la cantidad de carbono libre que pasa por difusión en dicho gas de medición de actividad de carbono a través de dicha membrana de difusión.
