Abstract

Improvements in servodirection mechanisms for vehicles, comprising a rotary steering control element in a housing, a motor piston connected to a vehicle steering linkage member, the piston separating the housing from two pressure chambers, a shaft of which end portions comprises a screw cooperating with a nut integral with the piston, a pressure fluid distributor valve conveniently connected to the two pressure chambers, the distributor valve being of the type comprising a sleeve that moves in unison with the shaft and a rotor that moves in unison with the rotary control member, the shaft and the rotary control member being connected to the opposite end portions of a torsion bar-shaped spring, characterized in that the other end portion of the shaft is flared and it comprises an internal cavity and is provided with holes to contain the sleeve and the r of the distributor valve and because the shaft is mounted rotatably in the housing by a single ball-to-ball bearing, which is carried out in the following manner: the internal track of the balls is obtained thanks to a throat provided in the outer periphery of the other end portion of the shaft and the outer track of the balls is made of two complementary rings axially and radially held in the cover of the valve of the housing.
