Abstract

Process for the preparation of metal fungicidal salts, particularly for the preparation of an alkylene (or phenylene) bisdithiocarbamate/alkyl (or dialkyl) dithiocarbamate of ammonium, substituted ammonium, phosphonium and/or substituted phosphonium/metal, characterized in that it comprises reacting, in dissolution, (1) at least one C2-C6 alkylene (or phenylene) bisdithiocarbamate or one N, N'-substituted bisdithiocarbamate in which the two nitrogen atoms are each attached to two groups -CH2CH2- to form a heterocycle of six members; (2) at least one dithiocarbamate in which the nitrogen atom is optionally substituted by one or two saturated hydrocarbon groups that can be linked together to form a heterocycle; (3) at least one of the following: (a) an amine of the formula **(See formula)** (b) a guanidine salt, an N-alkyl substituted guanidine salt or a salt of the formula **(See formula)** (c) a salt of the formula **(See formula)** in which formulas X represents an anion and R1, R2, R3 and R4 each represent hydrogen, a saturated hydrocarbon group having up to 20 carbon atoms and optionally containing up to 3 substituents chosen from hydroxy, amino, alkynyl and halogen, a phenyl, naphthyl, benzyl or phenethyl group each optionally containing up to 3 substituents chosen from methyl, ethyl, methoxy, ethoxy, fluoro, chloro, bromo, iodo, nitro and trihalomethyl, with the proviso that in the formulas of (a) and (b) above R1 and R2 can be joined together to form the group **(See formula)** where Z is a methylene group, an oxygen atom, or a nitrogen atom and n and m are integers from 1 to 4; and a valence greater than 1.
