Abstract

A method of applying a thermoplastic synthetic resin coating to a metal tube, comprising the steps of heating the tube to a temperature in the range of 50 to 65ºC, applying a layer of molten adhesive to the tube, applying the synthetic resin coating by extrusion, by means of a ring-shaped extruder head, and cooling by means of a liquid from the outside, so that the synthetic resin coating solidifies at least partially, the applied adhesive layer being at least 0.15 mm thickness, and the adhesive being a mixture based on synthetic resin that also contains one or more natural resins and one or more paraffins and/or waxes, such that the adhesive has a viscosity in the range of 1000 to 10000 centipoise at temperatures of work.
