Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable coating of plastic in a simple way without the need for a special heat source, by a method wherein a liquid mixture of an epoxy resin and a crosslinking agent is applied on a metalic surface to form an under-coating layer, and a plastic layer is covered thereon.
CONSTITUTION: The liquid mixture of the epoxy resin and the crosslinking agent is applied on a metal surface to form the under-coating layer. While the under-coating layer is in an uncured state, a thermoplastic resin in molten condition is covered on the under-coating layer to crosslink the under-coating layer and simultaneously to monolithically unite the under-coating layer and the plastic layer. For example, the liquid mixture of epoxy resin and the crosslinking agent thereof is applied by means of an air spray and other devices on a metallic surface preheated to about 80W100°C to form the under-coating layer having a thickness of 50W500μ. The thermoplastic resin, which is fused at 190W260°C, is extruded to a film by means of an extruder with a die for covering thereon.
