Abstract
Procedure for the gasification of hydrocarbons and in particular heavy hydrocarbons, by partial oxidation in a reaction chamber by means of an oxygen-containing gas, called an oxidizer, in order to produce gaseous mixtures containing hydrogen and carbon oxide; characterized in that a stream of oxidizer rises at supersonic speed in a nozzle; a recompression of said current is caused in order to reduce it to subsonic speed with the formation of a shock wave; the hydrocarbon is introduced into the oxidant stream prior to the shock wave, in order to obtain a spray of the hydrocarbon and its mixture in said stream, the amount of hydrocarbon being greater than the amount corresponding to its transformation into CO2 and H2O; and the gaseous mixture is evacuated out of the reaction chamber.
