Abstract

An apparatus for the selective holding of a to-and-fro driven control element of a textile machine in one of its terminal positions, wherein there is provided a holding element constructed as an armature of a selectively energizable electromagnet, this holding element, when the electromagnet is not energized, moves from a first position, in which it bears against the electromagnet into a second position and that in one of its positions blocks the control element located in the one terminal position. An actuation mechanism or device acts upon the holding element in order to bring the holding element from its second position into its first position and/or to raise the holding element bearing against the electromagnet from such electromagnet when it is not energized.
