Abstract
A method of controlling a steam turbine generating station having steam valves to control the admission of steam to the turbine under the direction of a generator that provides valve positioning signals in accordance with a reference signal that is modified with the inputs from various condition sensors that detect various conditions in the operation of the turbine, in which the conditions are monitored and their status is reported to the computer, characterized in that the status of the conditions is continuously compared with its desired value according to the positioning signals and, if the difference exceeds a predetermined value, the valve position is corrected to a predetermined rate until the difference again becomes less than said predetermined value.
