Abstract

1509555 Automatic control GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 10 April 1975 [12 April 1974] 14798/75 Heading G3N [Also in Division F1] In a steam turbine control system in which a manual throttle control unit controls the turbine steam inlet valves during normal operation, an automatic rollover circuit is effective at start-up and shut-down to ensure uniform heating and cooling of the turbine rotor by sensing a zero-speed condition, i.e. a speed of less than one-half R.P.M. and moving the inlet valve to a predetermined position to admit steam to the turbine until the rotation speed rises to above the zero-speed condition, and then closing the valve. This operation is repeated as desired.
