Abstract
A method of developing electrostatic latent images, which comprises forming an electrostatic latent image on a surface, contacting the latent image of said surface with a developer composition comprising a finely divided particulate toner composition, including a dye and a polyester low melting point amorphous aromatic in which the polyester contains, in the polymer chain, at least about 30 mole percent of at least one bivalent radical chosen from the group consisting of: (a) an asymmetric arylene radical represented by the formula: **(See formula)** where Ar is a bivalent arylene radical containing from 6 to about 18 carbon atoms, 11 is chosen from the group of radicals consisting of hydrogen, alkyl containing from 1 to about 4 carbon atoms, halo, sulfo and their metal salts alkaline, nitro, cyano, lower alkoxy, amino, thio lower alkoxy and -N (R') p where each R' can be independently hydrogen or lower alkyl and p is an integer of 2 or 3, each m is independently a number of 0 to 1 and n is a number from 0 to 3, and b an asymmetric alkylene radical represented by the structural formula: **(See formula)** where R'' is an alkyl radical containing from 1 to about 4 carbon atoms, each R'''is independently hydrogen or R'', q is a number from 1 to about 10 and each R is independently a number from 0 a 1, and carrier particles of relatively opposite triboelectric polarity, so that the hue of said developer composition electrostatically adheres to the latent image and reveals it, and said surface fixes the image thus revealed.
