Abstract
Fungus infections of plants are combatted by treating the plants with an effective amt. of a cpd. of formula H2N-C(=NH)-NH-(CH2)n-NH-C(=NH )-NH2 (I) (where n is 8,9 or 10). The carbonate, diacetate, fumarate, bischloroacetate, dibenzoate, maleate, succinate and bis-trichloroacetate of (I n = .8) are new and claimed. The cpds. (I) are partic. of interest against Piricularia oryzae in rice. They can be applied directly to plants (including seeds), and a pref. form of application is as seed dressings. Many of the compounds exert fungicidal activity when applied to plants via the soil (systemic action).
