Abstract
Procedure to benefit an ilmenite mineral, characterized in that it comprises forming, from the ilmenite, a material of which 20% by weight comprises at least pseudo-brookite; reducing said material under conditions such that not less than 4% of the iron content of the reduced material (calculated as Fe) is in the ferric state; and leaching the reduced material thus obtained to produce a benefited titaniferous material.
